Once the cadets had set up
their harbour, they had to go out on Close Target Reconnaissance (CTR) missions,
one section was CTRing a roadblock near Imber village, the other a section of
armoured vehicles in the middle of the plain. They got back late at night, and
gave their reports before going to bed.
In the morning, the cadets
got up before first light (the time that the enemy is most likely to attack)
into defensive positions. When they were happy that they were safe for the
moment, they had their boil in the bag breakfasts (lovely!). Shortly after their
bacon + beans, they had some bad news - someone had betrayed them to the enemy,
and an armoured unit was on the way! They now had no choice but to Escape and
Evade (E&E), falling back with their kit to the border, avoiding the enemy on
the way
